How much should I pay for this?
Okay so I went and checked out the car tonight. It was in excellent condition, didn't see a scratch on the outside or anything it looked great. Took it for a quick test drive, it seemed nice...but a tiny bit bumpy but the roads were in terrible shape.
I had a similar problem with a 350z, when I test drove that, it was a very rough ride on even on anything but freshly paved streets. I thought the G35 was reasonable (better than the 350z) considering the shape of the roads, but a tiny bit bumpy. If I do decide to get it I'll have to go on a thorough test drive to dry it out on some nicer areas.
I've been driving my Mom's 90's Oldsmobile which is pretty smooth actually, better than the G35 and 350z. Is it just a reality that with the newer sleeker cars the ride won't be quite as smooth as the longer type vehicles? I mean the ride wasn't bad on the G35 and I just wanted to make sure that it's standard for most vehicles and no matter what car I get there's gonna be some tiny bit of bumpiness along the way due to road conditions. Has the G35's been a 'smooth' ride for you guys?
As for the price, they are all in $CAN, his asking price was 19,000 and I tried to offer 16.5k and he kinda laughed and said his original price was pretty much firm, but he could MAYBE sell it for 18.5k. He said he paid 27,000 a year and a half ago for it. 18.5k is still in my budget but compared to the other vehicles I see in the market it sounds a little expensive. The car was in great shape which definitely helped but I dunno I'm not in any rush to buy it because it wasn't a steal by any means. He says he's not in a rush to sell, which seems legit, but honestly I don't think there's gonna be too many willing buyers trying to pay his original asking price. I'm gonna keep my eyes open I think and keep looking for deals, but keep this one in mind.

Dont pay over 16k for it. I bought my 03.5 sedan for 17.5k in 07 with 53k miles. The original asking price was 19.5k. It came fully loaded with Nav and new tires. The original owner bought the car for $36000.
If he says he's not in a rush to sell, just give him your offer and tell him thats what you can do... He should give you a call soon and be willing to negotiate.
Good Luck
