I dunno man, $340/month seems high to me for a nearly 5 year old car that is out of warranty. Bu the time you make your last $340 payment the car will be nearly 10 years old (if you keep it that long).

But, only you can decide if if's financially worth it. We don't know your cost of living, income level and expenses...so $340 could be nothing to you...or you could be working just to pay for the car..we don't know.

Sounds to me that you really want to get into modding, but need a newer platform to do so. So part of me wants to say go for it, but the other part hates seeing people dig themselves in a financial hole for a car. But like i said, only you know your expenses and what you can afford.

All my monthly payments together ( house, two cars, etc. ) don't amount to half my income so I'm good to go in that department. I do agree that paying $340 a month sounds like a lot for a 2005 car but a new G37 would pay $800...lol. I'm going to see it today and decide. I may be turned off if it's really the same thing. Maybe I'll end up getting a coupe..

Have you ever sat in an 05-06 interior? I think it's much nicer. Not a HUGE difference in available features though. Brakes are bigger though on the 05+ (not 05x though). If you get the premium model, it comes with the I-key which i think is well worth it. You have no idea how nice it is to not have to take the key out of your pocket.

My '06's interior which got me to fall in love with the car. I specifically wanted an '06 model because I wanted the larger brakes on the X, the bluetooth hands free (overrated in hindsight) and the newest model with least miles i could find. My car is specifically a daily driver only that will never be modded..so i was more interested in creature comforts.

I would stick with what you've got. The extra $120/month could be used for other things in your life that are more important to you.

I have an '05, and I love it, but the differences are suttle. especially since you do all the work yourself, there is no real reason to swap the cars.

You should be thankful for what you have, rather than wishing you had something slightly newer/better. There is a quote that I'm beginning to use now, "If you want something, you don't need it."

or, you can ask Suze Orman....

But if it were up to that I'd be driving a Yaris.

Mustang5L5, I've never sat in an 05+. The pics sure do look nice as hell though, especially the center console and door panels.

You guys think 340 a month is a lot for an 05, I'm payin 359 a month for 03 OP I'd say stick with the 05, you can make the 03 as good as an 05 if not better, and they're about the same speed cuz the 05 is heavier, save ur money for mods, they don't even have rear bumper lips available for 05 06

I'd keep the 03. To change from an 03 to an 05 isn't that bug of a jump and I couldn't justify the price difference.

If you're looking to upgrade your car, go big or go home.

Do a VK45 swap instead.

if i were you id pay it off before thinking of doing anything else ..

are the differences between the two years that much different? imo not enouph to make me spend more money to basically have the same car with a few tweaks ..

throw that extra money into upgrading your 03 ..

I think he major reasons were mileage on the car he has now and being able to tune when he adds FI to his '03.

Are there UpRev tuners in PR? If not, you'd have to get the unit dyno'd an etuned. Or data logged and etuned. Possible but probably not the best option for tuning FI

If you go FI, its better to get a UTEC anyways. Stick with the 03, add a wideband and build it up. For the extra $9,000 you would spend on the 05 you will get a lot more for your $$ with the current car.

Me too. It's nice not having a payment.

My G35 is paid off, but my chick leases an '07 IS250. No more leasing ever again.
