To the OP. Get the '05 and sell your Coupe 18's to me!

Haha, just kidding. I would just stick with what you have, pay it off, and get a G37 a couple years down the road.

My '06's interior which got me to fall in love with the car. I specifically wanted an '06 model because I wanted the larger brakes on the X, the bluetooth hands free (overrated in hindsight) and the newest model with least miles i could find. My car is specifically a daily driver only that will never be modded..so i was more interested in creature comforts.

is it me or does it look like theres a big chunk of leather on the left part of the passenger seat, or am i seeing things lol

Looks like a seat to me.

My dad likes to lease his car. mine is bought, i made payments, and it is now paid for.

My dad likes to get a new car every 2-4 years, and leasing is the easiest way. The residuals on the Gs are pretty good so it keeps his payments pretty low (he is only paying around $500 a month with like $1000 down and its a 2 year lease) so its not too bad. That and its fully loaded and at the time, the most expensive G sedan you could get (loaded x sport with every option) So he really likes that and it works for him. Before the 08 he leased an 04 X and before that he leased an 01 Saab 9-3 and before that a 99 Chevy Blazer etc etc.

All depends on how long you want the vehicle etc.

You mean where the seat controls are??

They are on both sides on the 05-06's. I think the 03-04 only has them on the driver's side

I just can't get into leasing. I like to hold my cars 4-5 years. I could deal with a 3-year lease, but when i do the math out and figure out how much it will cost me I walk away.

I almost leases an '08 G35x. Wasn't fully loaded. I think premium only, no NAV, no sport. Was something like $8500 down (my trade-in) and $400/month for 39 months on a 20K mile lease. I was going to spend $24100 on this car to "rent" it for 39 months...and then give it back. I just couldn't do it.

Granted, it would have been cheaper to get one with a lower mile lease, but i drive a lot and had to.

So, instead i bought my '06X and got it fully loaded with every option you could get on an '06 other than the chrome wheels. I paid less than the $24.1K i would have leased the '08 for....and when i'm done with it, i can sell it and at least get something back for it. Hopefully at least 50% if i'm lucky. Then i can use that for the down payment on my next car.

My g/f's leasing her IS250...loaded with everything but NAV and the amount we spent on the car only to give it back in 5 months with nothing to show for it makes me shake my head.

Granted some people can lease because it suits them best. Leasing just isn't for me. It's not that i'm a cheap bastard, but for a lot of people the 2nd most expensive thing they own is a car. I think that's rediculous for something that just gets you around. I prefer to get more for my dollar when it comes to a depreciating asset like a car (or a home to some people these days unfortunately). If i didnt care i'd go out and get a nice G37x coupe and call it a day. I can aford it...but I have better things to spend $1000/month payment on.

You aren't the first one to say that. I've shown that pic to friends who aren't familar with the G35 and they all say "Who took a chunk out of your seat??"

To be honest, i love the seat controls where they are on both sides. I can adjust the passenger seat from my seat after friends get out and leave the seat either too far forward (short girls) or waaay back (tall guy friends)

Well scratch that... I went to see the car today and it had 90K miles!!! I might as well keep mine. They also had another 05 with only 14K ( WOW! ) and it looked great but they were asking $22K for it. Not what I was looking for.

Here is the kicker...looking around I saw this guy that is selling is 03 Darkish Silver ( not charcoal but not light silver either ) G35 COUPE 5AT w/ Bose, Sunroof, Rear Spoiler, HID, etc. for only $15K with 67K miles. Car was in great condition with only the passenger seat that has a motor failure ( doesn't move back and forth ) and the rear spoiler needs to be painted ( he installed it after buying it and aparently the guy who painted it sucked ). Plus, I'd only be paying about $70 more than I do now.

Hmmmm....carfax anyone? JNKCV54E93M206074

The premium package on the 03/04 has the controls on both seats. I have them on mine.

I would spend 15k on an 03 coupe with 67k miles.

Thats what my car is worth and i have only 51k miles and mines an 05.

If you are really looking for an 05-06 sedan, look on autotrader. I KNOW there are more around because i have looked on occasion (thought about getting into one with AWD and some options but decided against it) and they are definatly out there for less than 18k with 90k miles (that thing should be going for like 13-14k....) so take a peak. I know there are some out there.

I get what you are saying. But you like to keep yours longer i suppose. my dad only wants a car for 2-4 years and he enjoys the easability of just dropping it off when he is threw and just picking up something new.

And idk why your payments were so high. The MSRP on our 08 was 42k and with $1000 down my dad is only paying $500 and some change a month, for a pretty expensive car. Granted, its only a 24 month lease with 12k miles a year, but it kept the payments pretty reasonable.

I had to finance 10k for my 05 and i paid $234 a month for 4 years. Of course, i busted my *** last summer and just paid it off, but it was still fairly reasonable, for me atleast.

Yes, but you have a sedan and coupes are worth more ( from what I've seen anyways ). Plus, I don't live in the US...I live in Puerto Rico ( which is kinda US but it's not at the same time...lol ) so places like ebay and autotrader are useless to me . It's tough enough to get a coupe here for less than $18-19K. I couldn't believe there was such a thing as one for $15K and thought it would be garbage...until I saw it.

Also, for some reason, 05-06 sedans are virtually unseen down here...I saw two of them at that dealer but other than that I have yet to see another 05-06 sedan being sold down here. 99% of G35's are coupes and out of the sedans 90% of them are 03's ( not even 04's ). And I have yet to see a single 6mt sedan here.

I checked NADA and your car is worth about $19,200 while the coupe I mentioned is worth $16,700 acording to them.
