Did you try negotiating? Find places on the Internet that sell it for the lowest price. Show them that a new one is less than they want for a used one. Make them an offer of $100 or whatever you want to pay. The worst that can happen is they say no.

as for negotiating i tried that too.... two different times. i actually went down here and when he said 'i cant do that' i looked at him straightin the face and said why not? he looked at me for a few seconds wondering if i really asked that question. he then said 'because it lists for 1150 and we can just wait for an insurance job to come along.'

Salvage yards want shops to buy these parts not the average person. Insurance companys will make a shop use these used parts. Then they get that top dollar for them
