I faced the same question a couple of months ago. I went with the '06 because it has better brakes than the '05. The price of anthing newer was way too much. An '07 was at least $6k more than I paid.

Saleen did.

http://saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?t=3125

It's the 1998 Saleen Contour. Only 1 made, but i don't think it's road legal. Very rare and unique car. I think it had around 250HP???

Saleen never made any more than that one though. Not my cup of tea either even though I usually love Saleen's styling. My next "toy" purchase will be an early 90's Fox body Saleen Mustang.

Since your criteria is 03 - 06, I would go with the 06 assuming it had all the bells and whistles you want, it should also have less miles. I love my 06x.

In addition to the physical attributes that are different between the 03/04 and the 05/06 models, the two biggest upgrades are bluetooth and proximity sensor key fobs in the 05/06.

The bluetooth isn't all that it's cracked up to be. When i first got my '06 i loved it, but having conversations can be difficult at times. My friends all say it sounds like i have an echo and hate talking to me. Plus if the a/c is on or the sunroof open, the wind noise causes issues. I find myself taking calls and then changing to the handset more and more.

But still, it was one of the things i wanted when i bought my G. I wanted the newest model of the 03-06 style with all the options i could get from the factory.

if i had it to do again, i wouldn't buy the X. the winters in NE have been increasingly mild, and my old impala was rwd and had no problem with the harsher winters, i can't imagine the rwd g35 would really be that bad... and also less to go wrong, more aftermarket support, both in private resale and in stores.... idk just seems like a no brainer...

of course, i also should have kept my jeep and my impala... i'm just full of auto-owner regret, so feel free to disregard.

Dan,

That is one interesting car ya got there. The wing is not my style, but I am sure there is plenty of performance under the skin.

Like I said before, I have decided to go AWD. This means that I am most likely not looking at the 2006 model.

That about ends this thread for me.

Will be doing some searching and may start a new thread so I can get my years and options straight.

Thanks again.
