G35 vs G35x Cons/pros

I am in the market for a used auto sedan and trying to decide if I will spend the extra $$ for AWD. Aside from the obvious, weight, simplicity, gas mileage, wet/snow handling what are the pros and cons of one over the other?

You pretty much got the main points, only thing I can think of would be the choice of transmission.

AWD come only in automatic

Theres really nothing else you covered all the main points. Aftermarket wise you have more choices with a rwd.

A Cobra?

I would suggest AWD since you reside in the New England region.

I guess it also depends on how much more the AWD car is. It should not be any more than $2k over the RWD. If so, it better have more options, newer, etc....

Nice Cobra.

Go with the AWD. It's just better for northeast winters, esp if your wife will be driving. My X is awesome in the snow.

Only benefits of RWD up in this area is the fact that they tend to be cheaper than the AWD models since not many people seek out the RWD models where it snows a lot, plus a RWD model might be tough to find. I rarely see one on the road. 99% of all sedans i see here are AWD

If you're into modding the car at all, the X has some issues with suspension swaps since it is different. Choices are limited. Exhaust choices can be limited some as well due to the different transmission.

X's now have coilovers available, so no suspension issues. I had a black 04 RWD and after 2 years I was so concerned that my wife was going to wrap it around a pole in winter driving that I traded it in and got an 06 AWD........best decision I could have made.

clean Cobra... still one of my favorite Stangs.... I would go with AWD since you're in a location with plenty of snow. Plus the wife is driving it so you gotta make sure she is safe!

05+ Updated interior, tailights, front bumper? (don't quote me on that), side skirts are now color matched, and newer. That's all I can think of in my head
