No need to push in the button for that. You just bump the shifter + or -
All it does is hit some little electronic switches anyway.
In fact I've seen a G rewired to be shifted using f1 style paddles mounted to the steering column.

The only time the button is used is when yo u push it from Park to Reverse, reverse back to park, or from Drive to reverse. Any other times you just move the shifter.

It kinda looks like the M45 **** would look at home on the 05-06 shifter since it also has a leather boot

How much is an m45 **** though? like $100?

I didn't know that lol, whenever im on manumatic I've always hit the bottom to engage + or -

It works. I have one on my 05 x. Much nicer looking than the beat up stock shift ****.

No, the auto shift **** locks in with a clip, the manual ones bolt on by screwing down.
