WHat kind of paint to use?

I want to paint my emblem back on the trunk. I know you can buy it but thats like 200 dollars for a piece of thing. What kind of paint should I use? Spray paint? like krylon spray paint or what not. I just dont want the paint to start to come off after it rains or something because those paint are cheap, can't be good quality

Best way is for a shop to do it. You can spray paint it, just make sure to use clear coat too.

Any cheap can of duplicolor spray paint will do the job, you just gotta sand it down good with 600 grit sandpaper, use black sandable primer, sand it some more, then paint and clear

Got it, but is the sandpaper necessary? I always thought sandpaper was to make the sides of wood even.

no, sandpaper is always necessary to paint, especially chrome, you need to make that chrome dull for the primer and paint to stick

Not if you don't want the paint to stick.

With these questions you're asking, I'd recommend just spending the $60 for a real shop to paint it.

+1 even I that I have some experience painting, paid the shop 50 bucks to paint my front and rear emblem, that's something in the car that you see all the time, and I wanted it to look perfect

Take them off sand a decent amount with 600. Make it so everything is dull. Then spray two light coats with some kind of sand-able primer. Allow a good amount of time to dry. Come back sand it again with 600 until it is all smooth. Clean thoroughly. Allow time to dry off water or if you used a cleaning solution to dry and then paint with 3 light coats of whatever spray paint. Allow to dry for an hour. Spray a clear coat over it and you should be good.

Krlyon still dominates in my book for spray paint look for that. hope that helps.
