Hello.
Has anyone heard any info. on acceleration times for the 6-speed? Everything I have been finding is for the Automatic.
I have been hearing rumors that the 6-speed should accelerate to 60 in less than 6 seconds. Somewhere around 5.5 - 5.8 maybe?

Just curious if anyone has heard.

I would guess maybe the 6MT is .2-.3 seconds faster...

Not sure, but on average, a manual will drop the 0-60 times of an automatic by 0.7 - 1.0 sec's

The times i've seen for automatics have been between 6.2 secs and 6.7 seconds. So I would guess the 6 speed should be around 5.8 - 6.0 sec's.

I"m really interested in seeing a comparison of the coupe's 6MT 1/4 mile and the sedan's 6MT 1/4 mile being the sedan is lighter although 20 HP less. Be interesting.

if not on the sedan then on what? coupe? 20hp more I guess.. but its also heavier by a couple hundred pounds.. how about manual sedan with cai and exhaust..

I can't imagine the times being any faster than 5.8sec to 5.9sec stock. The best time I've seen on the automatic is 6.1sec.

I was reffering to automatics in general compared to there 5 speed counterparts. As I mentioned further down in my post that I don't beleive you will see times faster then 5.8 secs for the 6MT Sedan.

It is very possibly close to 5.5! Although who cares. Real racing is time to distance - not time to speed. It is possible for 2 cars to race from a stop and the car with the faster 0-60 time to actually be behind the other car when the former reaches 60mph. Just an alternate opinion.

0-60 time is merely a benchmark. You could argue against it on a number of fronts...

 

6MT Coupe 0-60: 5.8
5A/T Coupe 0-60: 6.2

6MT Sedan 0-60: 6.2
5A/T Sedan 0-60: 6.7

 

where did you get such a slow time for the g35 sedan auto at? i have seen 0-60 @ 6.2 secs on a dozen sites. Edmunds.com has 6.1 secs for the auto

Ya I have seen faster times for the auto coupe and sedan. I have seen the auto coupe and sedan rated at 5.9-6 a couple of times and the most common time i have seen for the sedan was 6.3. Also I have seen 6 flat for the manual sedan and 5.5 for the coupe.
