Test Drive
Test Drive
This evening took my 2004 G35x for lets call it a spirited drive on Interstate I-190 here in Central Massachusetts. Have owned it about a month. Did Stillen cat back exhaust, Stillen air box with chrome Z-tube, 5/16 Plenum Spacer, and GSPEC front strut Bar. Yesterday got new brakes installed with drilled and slotted rotors on front with 4-pot Red calipers and Hawk HPS pads and steal lines. On Back are large slotted rotors with stock calipers (I painted Red), and Hawk HPS with steal lines. These fit on my 17 inch stock wheels. Also did clear corners. They look so much better!
At least modest increased performance is noted primarily in mid range. I'm basically satisfied with the sound of the cars brakes are far superior to 2004 stock. Far better modulation is particularly noted, and quicker deceleration. It's a very nice confident feel.
Back in early 1970's I owned a 1968 MGBGT with headers, dual Webers, and Abarth exhaust. That thing was really heaven. The sound was like music to the ears. One Sunday a friend of mine helped me race tune it. I'll never forget the sound and feel of the car. Even now about once a year the car is in my dreams. I got it near the end of my Junior year in high school. My parents must have been nuts for letting me have it. I'm lucky I survived. One of my best friends at the time had a 68 MGB. He had someone come over on his side of the road one night and hit him really good. He had four surgeries on his foot and ankle. A big black eye, and a wired jaw. Fortunately his head was ok, and he's had a very successful career in oceanographic engineering. It was very sobering.
Anyway this G35x is about the nicest driving thing I've had ever since.

I'd like to install a rear sway bar. Nothing will fit on the font of G35X. Have to find a sway bar that will fit with Stillen exhaust. Probably rear Stillen sway bar would be best best. Wonder if you can find just the ear not kit?

Looks good.
What's the rear kit? It's using a plus sized rotor i assume? WHat manufacturer makes the adapter bracket? Is it Baer?
I'd love to so something similar to my G35.

This is the rear kit. It is using a larger than stock rotor. The adapter bracket and the kit is from RacingBrake. http://www.racingbrake.com/G35_non_B...2-211-0-01.htm
