Difficult to Improve Upon

I agree with others that G35 style is just so good it's difficult to improve upon, and with G37 Infinity didn't do it. I probably won't be looking for another car for at least five years. So at that time I think it's unlikely I'm going to buy another G35? Also realistically I'd have to consider what gas prices are five years from now? If gas is four or five dollars a gallon that could have an effect on my choice. I would however consider what Infinity has to offer at that point because I think they are generally fine cars and competitive in their class. I'd also have to consider where I'm living five years from now. I may no longer be in New England, which may free up my choice because here you have to take into account the climate, the bad roads conditions, and general maximum wear and tear that's going to be inflicted on a car here.

I've always had a hankering for a Porsche 911 Targa. The guy who lived next door to me when I was growing up in Virginia had one that I used to drool over. I can still hear the sound of it as clear as day. I'd love to pick of an old one of those. Maybe if I'm in Calif five years from now I'll be looking for one. I've seen some decent old ones for about $20-25,000 At that point I'll be retired and would probably use my wife's vanilla car for many tasks.

The mods should just go ahead and put it in the forum software to automatically censor "Infinity" to "Infiniti"
oh wait, speakers.

For the "fun-to-drive" quotient, I'd most definitely buy another Infinit G. But I must agree with others here that the style of the G37 doesn't do it for me as well as the 1st generation G's. I'm just not a fan of the softened look though I have driven these cars and they are dynamite to drive. Maybe the 2010 refresh with revised front and rear fascias will change my thoughts. I just hit 95K miles on my 05 so I'll be ready in about a year to replace her. I just did the brakes and bought new tires so I'm good for at least another year.
Hey, whiile I'm here, anyone know where to buy a used driver's seat for an 05/06 G in wheat? Mine is looking tired and a replacement might be worth it. Thanks.

Yes, i might. To be fair, when the time comes, i will def test drive other vehicles and see what else is out there.

But i can see myself getting a G37x or even stepping up to an M.

It really all depends where I am and what my needs are when the time comes. I could be moving to San Diego in which case I won't need AWD anymore...and then I buy a G37 6MT.....or see if Ford sticks the 400HP 5.0 and 6-spd in the new Mustang GT and get one of those. I'd even consider an CTS-V or STS-V as part of me wants to get back into an American car.

In other words, i like Infiniti, but i'm leaving myself open.
