Under warranty or did you have to pay for it? I have a feeling they are gonna tell me it was from the previous owner smoking which I seriously doubt because the car never had a hint of smoke odor.

Now, that's the way all dealers should operate!

Just brought my car to the dealership to have a rattle fixed....when the tech got in the car to listen to the rattle, he noticed the yellowing. I noticed it myself for the first time a couple of days ago. The dealer said that as long as the car is under warranty, they will replace the trim at no cost to me......made it by 12 days!!!

The replaced mine no questions asked. All i said was "The trim is turning yellow and i don't smoke". Easy as pie.

Does anyone know if the replacement part will yellow in 2-3 years too??

According to the tech, the original glue the factory used caused the yellowing. They have now switched to a clear silicone which will not yellow.

my dealer wouldn't replace it for me...and they're usually good about everything...I'm not a smoker either. They attributed it to the previous owner being a smoker.

That sucks. See if you can find someone with a clean ashtray and lighter than was never used and try it again.

Thanks for creating this topic. My girlfriend made mention of the same thing the other day. I thought it was actually reflecting her clothes. Later, I still noticed it. It was really bothering me. When I bought the car, I was pretty sure it was smoke free. I was more bummed about the thought of the car being smoked in before and the layer of tar over the internal electronics than the actual yellowing.

I am not sure I can get a picture of it. It might either reflect flash...or just not show.

No...Smokers are just used to a yellow haze over everything....front windshield, carpets, walls.
