Yellowing trim on 06 sedan
When i had the yellow trim, the most noticable way to see it i thought was to stand outside the car and look in. When i did this is when it stood out the most IMHO.
Was nice to get a new trim peice cuz the OP put a small scratch on the original that was bugging me

Mine is only noticeable from certain angles, but I'm one of those people who notices every little scratch or knick on my car. I'm hoping my dealership will replace it, but I guess it's not a huge deal if they don't. I'm still waiting to hear back from the service manager about getting this and my passenger side hood hinge replaced under warranty. Not really sure what is taking them so long.
Just got off the phone with my dealership and was informed that neither the CPO or 'Elite Wrap' extended warranties cover the hood hinge or the yellow aluminum trim. They said it would have been covered had I brought it in a month and a half ago before my original warranty expired. I'm very disappointed by this since I was told that the Elite warranty was essentially an extension of the bumper-to-bumper warranty. I'm waiting to hear back from the Finance department to see if I can be refunded the $900 I basically paid for nothing.
Can anybody post up the invoices from when you had your trim replaced? My dealership is going to contact Infiniti about this and I'm trying to show that it is a recurring issue that has been covered by warranty for others. Also, has there ever been any official word from Infiniti that the glue was causing the discoloration?

I can scan mine tomorrow at work and send you a copy if i remember.
I also must point out my cig lighter and ashtray have never been used. So it would be tough to argue that it was from me smoking. The tray is spotless inside.
I have the invoice in front of me, looks like they replaced two parts and this is how it was written up.
"CUSTOMER STATES CENTER CONSOLE TRIM ABOVE ASHTRAY IS TURNING YELLOW, PLEASE CHECK,...CUSTOMER DOES NOT SMOKE
RADIO FINISHER'S ARE DISCOLORED
REPLACED RADIO FINISHER"
PARTS
FINISHER-RADIO 28042-AC703
LID ASSY-CLUSTER 68260-AC710
Anyone wanna price those out??
So which exact parts did they replace? I'm guessing the FINISHER-RADIO is the piece that goes around the radio. If so, I might end up doing it myself for that cheap.
What is the LID ASSY-CLUSTER though?

Yes you are right, the lid assy is the ashtray door.
That's what I figured. Can't believe it's $150 for the ashtray door. Oh well, if they don't fix mine for free I will just order the radio finisher and forget about the ashtray since it's barely noticeable.
That's what I was thinking, but it sounds that way. I can't even tell my ashtray is yellowing unless I open it so it's definitely not worth $150 for me to replace it.
I looked here: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...55&catalogid=0
Unless the part #s are wrong or their site is wrong.

I sent them an email to doublecheck. It looks like the ashtray can only be purchased as an entire assembly so maybe that's why it's so expensive. Even so, $150 for a plastic ashtray is ridiculous.
LID ASSY-CLUSTER is not the ashtray door. LID ASSY-CLUSTER is the aluminum finish over the entire radio unit that yellows.
FINISHER-RADIO (28042-AC703) is just the dark plastic piece that shields the radio display:
