Weird *woooo* type sound when car is cold

This sound never happens in the summer when the entire car is nice and warm all the time, it only seems to happen once the weather starts to get colder, or in the winter.

I start the car after it's been sitting for awhile and start driving, and around 2000-3000RPM the car makes a pretty loud weird *woooo* type sound. If I stay at a constant speed between these RPMs it makes the sound, if I let off the gas then it goes away. It never seems to fully go away until about 10minutes into a drive when the car is fully warmed up.

I first thought that maybe the thermostat was causing something before the car warmed up, but I noticed that even if the temp gauge shows the car as being warmed up, it doesn't go away until I drive more. This made me think that maybe it's something in the transmission? I have no idea to be honest.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what it might be?

I think it's just the lame gearboxes our cars have that's causing the noise...

Yeah I think so. I mean, the noise isn't causing any real problems, it's just more annoying than anything. Driving past people when it's making the noise just makes our cars SOUND like something is wrong, when there really isn't. Grrrr lol.

Might have to find a gear lube that stops the noise.

Yea, funny joke! NOT! If you had a 6MT in cold weather you would take offense to that.

I love when they "show off" the whistle tip for the camera, the passenger is hanging out the side window looking back, the driver almost loses it and almost smokes a parked car, then blows through a stop sign LOL
