weird tire size question

I've found a set of ray track 18s but the tire sizes have me confused.

Can I put these on my car?

front
Size: 18x8.0
Offset: +30mm
Weight: 18.19lbs
Tire: 225/45/18

Rear
Size: 18x8.5
Offset: +33mm
Weight: 18.62lbs
Tire: 265/35/18

As you can see, the front has a larger sidewall than the rear... does that make sense? I have confirmed those are the right sizes...

I think it would look weird:

Front tire diameter: 25.97 in
Rear tire diameter: 25.30 in

Can't vouch for the rear offset with wide-ish 265 rears, either, and those are pretty fat for 8.5" width IMO.

Buy the wheels without tires or at least replace the rears.

I'm awaiting some photos of the tire tread, he says they are like brand new. But he won't separate them from the rubber.

I think I've seen someone run a 265 on an 8.5 on here but I can't remember who. Might need some fender mods to make that fit as the Z wheels fit pretty close to flush.

That tire diameter isn't too bad, might help even out my drop.

He was asking 1400 for them but I've got him down to 1150, what do you think?

265 is a bit wide for a 8.5 in wide wheel.. not sure if its safe. I would get better fitting rear tires.

245 I think was the maximum width for 8.5inch..

"No, you'll see in the pictures tomorrow that the sidewalls are flush with the rim seat. 8.5" wide can support up to a 285 width, however, the sidewalls would bulge and wouldn't look the greatest. These tires fit perfectly and give the wider stance, and more agressive look"

This is what he just responded to me when I asked why the 265 on the rear. Judging by the photo that I can see the rear tire, it doesn't look like it's bulging at all really... I'll upload the photo.

+1 would look off. id get a set of 225 45 for the front and 245 45 for the rear.

Well do you think I should grab them and run the tires for a while or sell the tires and get my own tires mounted?

1. You're not in Canada
2. They have brand new rubber
3. They usually sell for $1000 with no rubber at all

Try and find me some cheaper, MINT ones.

The bulge may not be on the outside of the wheel, check on the inside of the tire/wheel well. 265 is not a safe tire size to run on an 8.5 inch wheel. 255 is the max I would run.

I bought a set 700 shipped from my350z for just the wheels. 3 sets were on sell in the marketplace , one was 700, the other 750, the other 800. So I went with the lowest.

I plan on powdercoating them and going with 235/45/18 and 265/40/18 max summer tires.

The sidewall will stick out a tiny bit though.

So it can be done!

Regardless, I think I'm going to run them for a while and then sell them or sell them right away and go 255.

You have to remember, add $50 or more to the shipping. Then add 13% for tax then add probably $50 for landing (depending on shipping company) Then the conversion to Canadian.

That's over $1000 Canadian. You're getting them at American prices in USD. Given the dollar is almost at par right now, but by the time I find the wheels it could have dropped or something.

Plus shipping, you have to wait and you never inspect the wheels first hand, all you have is photos. Not saying I don't trust sellers, but I prefer to buy first hand.

What tires came on your wheels for $700?
