I made an alum. belly pan for my vw because the plastic one would get torn off in the deep snow over winter.

I used 1/8" alum. was super easy to work with and super durable. Because it was rigid, I only used 4 fasteners on it too. Dzues fasteners would be even more the sweet. We have tons of salt hear and I saw zero corrosion in 4 winters.

You guys are right, I should just look into making my own. I'm looking for durability cause our plastic one is always getting shredded. Its there not only for road salt but also serves some aerodynamic function.

Does anyone know how much they cost?
$151 without hardware (nuts bolts etc.)

Or, clad the stock one with a few layers cf. Would deffenitely toughen it up. How are these belly pans for strength? Do they explode upon contact with chunks of ice like the VW ones?

I plan to have something done, but not aluminum. My reasoning is to keep my front bumper (karookie) more stable when going up driveways to prevent cracking and whatnot.

I'm probably gonna go through Seibon and get a CF piece, about 1/8 to 1/4" thick, basically it's a fiberglass piece with some carbon laid on it and it will be cut to shape and drilled into the bottom of the bumper and attach to all factory points...I'll probably leave a window for draining the oil and removing the filter so I don't have to worry about removing it.

I've seen the durability and it's amazing. From what I was told you could stand on the bumper and it will support the weight.

Just another idea/option if you're seeking to get something replaced. I personally don't like the plastic one because it's too thin and mine got ripped to pieces so I had to take it off.

Won't be for a while lol, not really a priority of mine. I can't take the credit though, that goes to Alex from Battle Version. It wouldn't fit my theme, but he suggested the CF piece extending out a little on the front sides of the bumper to give it a more aggressive look.

Think the aluminum might increase engine and exhaust noise not to mention the road debree clanging off the underside.
