Rocking Seats?

Hey, I know some of you had your rocking seats fixed. Did the TSB solve the problem? Or is it reoccuring? My seat is starting to move when I brake hard and come to a stop. Just wondering if I should get them to fix it.

Thanks

Re: Rocking Seats?

Mine has been "fixed" 5 times and I still get some "movement". They never have fied it just made it less noticable.

Re: Rocking Seats?

Had mine fixed a couple of weeks ago. So far, it's "solid as a rock." It actually feels better than when the car was new.

Re: Rocking Seats?

Hey, did they give you any grief on this since the car is past 1 year old? I saw somewhere here (I think) that they had given someone a hard time because it was past 12 months.

Re: Rocking Seats?

I am the one who got the $hit for expecting them to fix an on going problem after the 1 year period. I hope no one else had the same $hit happen but I bet they have.

Re: Rocking Seats?

I'm about the same weight and had the revised seat mech twice and still no luck. Five times for this is crazy but now they just act like I never asked for them to check it out.

Re: Rocking Seats?

I pray for those whose rocking seats were fixed. Hopefully it stays fixed and you don't use or accidentally use auto seat positioner.
Mine was fixed twice already. It lasted for about a week the first time and then a month the 2nd time. And now the seat started "clicking" again intermittently when making turns or if I just move my body side ways!
For a short period of time, I really thought they fixed it until I accidentally hit the Auto seat positioner switch to ON.
I noticed that both times when the seats started to move, it was always because after the seats were moved (by auto seat positioner) several times.
Anyone else noticed that?

Re: Rocking Seats?

Wasn't this problem supposed to be addressed by the '04 model year?

I have an '04.5 w/ 4k miles, and the creaking and rocking is driving me nuts!
Are the only Japanese over 240 pounds sumo wrestlers?

they have to be able to design a seat to accomodate my (large) American backside..........

Thanks for the tip on the auto seat positioner, cke73

Re: Rocking Seats?

I had mine fixed several months ago when the car was close
to two years old. No problem getting the dealer to do the fix.
The seat has not had the problem since.

Re: Rocking Seats?

Just had mine fixed the other day under warranty. They actually replaced the whole seat rail assembly. Works great now. If only I could get my gas gauge to read full now!!
