Yeah guys, I know what you mean. Here in North Florida....... um........

it gets in the 20's maybe high teens once or twice / winter so I have to check tire pressure. And defrost the windshield.

Socal FTW!
$1 million 3 bedroom ranch-style home, what's that?!?!?!?

Yesterday I swapped my 17s back my G and it made me a bit sad to see those narrow rims back on my car and it made me realize even more that I really should consider spacers, at least for the rear The car looks a little meaner since the OEM 5 spokes are anthracite and the chrome is black out, but I still much prefer my wider and sexy 18s. My steering is far lighter with the narrow tires and the car will light the newer all season V-rated Falkens up, even from a 5mph roll. Handling has gone to poop too. No more razor-sharp reflexes. The tires are quiet as hell though.

G is parked, ready to be de-modded, and i am in the process of trying to find some better/cheap tires for this 96 Subaru Outback i am driving. The 6 year old Dayto tires on it are TERRIBLE. We got a little bit of slush the other day, and the thing wouldn't stop, no joke. Almost died.

Cant wait for next winter. AWD with snow tires ftmfw.

Don't worry, it's impossible to die in a Subaru...

I was in Orlando and Sarasota last year in Feb and I was numb! It was warmer in Canada. Literally 10-15 Degrees.

Liar.

What are you getting to replace the G? Something tells me an STI.

I used to live in Orlando. I don't remember it ever getting very cold. But it does in North FL.
I remember a guy I knew that just moved down from OR saying it would never get cold here. I told him it dips below 20 a couple of times a year and he responded with: "try below zero" or something like that. Anyway, one night it got down to 17, I called him and asked if it was cold yet. He said maybe he was wrong before.
The thing about it feeling cold is it really depends on the moisture in the air and the wind. I've been in Panama City FL in the 40's with an icy breeze in off the Gulf and it was miserably frigid. But I've also been in CO when it was dry and cold wearing jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt and got hot from running around and it was upper 20's / low 30's
Fortunately, "feeling" cold doesn't affect the car. And it only snows here once every 50 years, so no need to winterize

No, i am not buying a Subaru. Plus the insurance would murder me. Just going to sell my car outright and pick up an 05-06 AWD G with similar miles. Going to leave it pretty much stock except for some 18s or 19s for the summer. I want the best winter ability. I might share a car with my dad as well. Who knows yet. I just cant deal with RWD anymore.

Aw man, a RWD G on a $500 set of snow tires will run circles around an AWD G on all season rubber. Just ask the Canadian crew. AWD isn't all it's cracked up to be. I should know as I've had an AWD car in my stable since 2000 (wife's 98 Legacy GT wagon). It sure would be a lot cheaper to buy a set snow tires and at least try it out before loosing your *** selling your car for an AWD one. Just saying.

You are preaching to the choir man. If i still lived in MLPS at home, i'd probably just put my car back to stock and run some Blizzaks. It is a very long, boring story that i am not gonna bother typing out. The price is just too good to pass up for that extra comfort.

And don't worry, i am planning on throwing Blizzaks on the AWD.
