Before calling them liars, they really do change whole pieces out instead of just bulbs for some reason.. When my car was just in there for warranty work, I told them about replacing the bulb for the + shift light in my 05x. They replaced the whole shifter trim piece with a new piece.. Which was awesome because the old one was f-d all up from someone shoving their key into the shift lock thingy.

..So they may really replace that whole ignition piece

^^That sounds nice when its warranty and your not paying for it, but for those like myself who don't have warranty a lie like that deserves a punch in the face

If you are paying the dealership to replace a bulb, they are gonna rape you anyway. They will prob charge you 1 hour minimum and dealers typically dont want time repairing subassemblies. In other words if a button breaks on the seat, they usually just order up a new seat trim. Wasteful i know, but mayb e they figure tackling the little issues like that costs them more money in the long run and they'd rather charge out the main assembly.

Not supporting the dealership in any way, but there are sometimes business decisions in the way they operate.
