146 indicated, supposedly governed at 145 but I never felt it

I have averaged 120 mph over 35 minutes before

I once drove 15 mph for about two days, it was going from my house too the grocery store ( about 2 miles), might have been traffic or something?

 

on a deserted stretch of US 180 in Arizona in the dark with no moon.

gotta love living in a town of 3000 people, I can drive 3 miles and go shooting jackrabbits in the summer I can drive 45 minutes and be in the mountains, and in 2 hours in the winter I can be in Phoenix where it is 80 in the winter.

BTW just for S&G's, you can get up to 140 from a standing start at 5200 feet altitude in about 2 miles, 120 takes 1 mile, 135 takes about 1.5 miles and the other 0.5 miles is to go from 135 to 140.

You guys should check out the silver state classic. Twice a year, 100ish miles of highway in nevada gets closed off for an awesome road race. You race the clock, no other cars. www.silverstateclassic.com

I drove from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon last year in a rental Toyota Camry... I went 100 most of the way... I was in a caravan with a Honda Odyssey and Chrysler minivan for about an hour all going around 100.

Around here the roads are mostly too busy but one night I was driving in NH in my 94 Probe GT and did 135 at about 3am. I was the only car on the straight as an arrow road... that was a rush for sure

I don't think the car would have went much faster but the road certainly would have permitted it.

I only gone as high as 120 for couple of minutes with my G sedan cause I don't have the guts anymore. Too much is on the line, now that I have a family of 4 to carry. But I have gone as high as 155 on my chipped V8 BMW until the it started to smoke. Which per my service advisor its nomal for these BMW to spits out oil when going beyond 120mph for extend of time.

yes i have looked at the silver state classic but you cannot exceed 115 mph in a street class car without serious investment in safety equipment. Nor can you average higher than 90 something.

so in short I can go faster without and I personally know both cops on that particular shift in my area
