What area is the 'rear deck'?

Just reading through some of the threads on rattles in the G35 and am wondering where specifically is the rear deck? What area of the vehicle does this comprise of? Is this part of the trunk?
Thanks

The rear deck is the carpeted cardboard section where the rear speakers sit.

Thanks, so how do you get to it to put some felt around that area to see if it helps with the rattles?
Does the carpeting come off?

it's not actually carpeted - its like fabric cardboard... they call it the "rear parcel shelf" (or rear parcel shelf finisher)...

BTW, not all have speakers there... mine are in the door.

Here is the Removal/Installation instructions:

Ooops, that didn't post very legibly... I'll try to re-do tomorrow when I have more time... Or just look up FSM pg EI41 & EI42 (for 04.5 sedan anyway).

Speakers on the coupe but sedans have the speakers in the rear doors.

Mine has them in the doors and there is also one in the middle of the rear deck. I think there are 5 total or 7.

if you have blose - then you have a sub up there... so 6 non blose, or 7 w/blose

Anyway - OP, if you look up TSB there is one for the fix you are trying to do... I think it step by steps the procedure.

I thought the Bose "sub" was integrated into the 6x9's and not a separate standalone subwoofer in the 03-07 Coupes. I have 2 rear deck, 2 side rear passenger, 2 door, 2 high range up top, on the bottom of pillars - total of 8 speakers of which IIRC 6 of them are 6x9's.

The reason I ask is when I went looking for the sub, unlike my 350Z there was no 10" sub anywhwere, did some digging and somehow I though Bose integrated the "subs" into the 6x9's.

Btw OP search the TSB's there is a rattle fix kit for the rear deck parcel finisher and the rear pillar covers, mostly the usual rubber and stick-on stuff, might give you some good ideas how to quiet that down yourself. In my B13 I bolted in the center discreetly with black bolts, but not possible to do in the coupe in a way that would not look horribly ghetto.

It may be in the coupes, but in the sedan, you get a 7th speaker dead center of the rear deck.

OP is asking about sedan - we're in sedan section... I'm not certain about coupe ~
