Question Quarter Panels?

Are the rear quarter panels the same for the 03-04 and 05-06? Considering options with doing custom work without using my current parts.

^^^ yes that's what he means - but they are called quarter panels... your fenders are in front.

I'm not sure - but I think they might be a little different... if you look from direct profile, the taillights are angled slightly different and I think the bumper mates up different. I'm not positive though.

Hmmm, I can try out Vivek's tail lights to see if it's a direct swap or not. As for the bumper, I think the difference is the mud or splash guards (not sure which of the two it is term-wise). Got a PM coming your way.

I would highly not recommend this first of all because replacing a quarter panel on the car correctly is a huge job, it is hard and very costly. I would only recommend this if your quarter was not repairable, which yours are 100% repairable.

the taillights will fit - but for some reason they always looked a slightly different angle (which would mean the recessed/cavity is a little diff)... and the bumper too... it could totally be an illusion though - so I'm not sure.

Yes the splash guards/mud guards are completely different.

Either way it's going to cost quite a bit...but after thinking things through of what work it would be done after you mentioned it I realized that I'd actually have to cut part of the body out and re-weld back. That actually would cost more now that I think about it.

No, I knew they didn't, I just didn't think of it at the moment at the extent of the work and cost of it. Basically in the future I need to cut the inner part of the quarter panel and then cut the outer part and add a flare to the fender for more clearance. I was hoping to do some of it without having to leave my vehicle at the shop..having them work on the spare set of quarter panels for the flares.

They could do that. Would add thousands to the procedure and entail having to realign both quarters that had nothing wrong with them in the 1st place. Just introduces way more chances for a problem.

Would also be cheaper to rent another car if you can't be w/o one

As posted before, You don't want them to have to reweld and modify another set of rears since it entails ALOT more work and the chances for something going wrong is there...just not worth it.

this will be a HUGE project..if i had to stab at it id say 03-06 is going to fit the same, the body lines havent changed, the tail lights are interchangable..the only prob imo would be removing them .gl and post some pics if u do this, also a DIY!!
