How easy is it to replace the sway bars? Just wondering how much work will be involved? I'd be doing it myself.

I'm def still interested in getting a matched set of F&R bars...but i'm not in a rush.

It looks pretty straightforward from the FSM.
Front
1. Remove tire with power tool.
2. Remove undercover with power tool.
3. Remove mounting nut on upper portion of stabilizer connecting rod with power tool.
4. Remove fixing bolt and nut, then remove stabilizer clamp, stabilizer bushing.
5. Remove stabilizer bar from vehicle.
Rear
1. Remove dynamic damper of exhaust tube.
2. Remove lower side fixing nut on stabilizer connecting rod and remove stabilizer connecting rod from stabilizer bar with power tool.
3. Remove fixing nut on stabilizer clamp and remove stabilizer from vehicle with power tool.

Install in reverse order.

lol, I need some sways now, more than ever. Guy at the shop tells me I broke a sway bar link in the rear. Sorry for the slight OT but where did you get rear sways that fit?

To get this straight would an '06x already have sway bars on it front and rear but this thread is talking about replacing them with stiffer ones? My last car (civic) had no rear sway at all, so I bought one and went to install it myself, and busted the heads off a couple of bolts that were welded in the back. Oops. Took it to the dealer and payed them to fix my mistake and intall it for me and replace the nearly rusted out rear lower control arms. Cost me a chunk of change but the cornering was so improved it was still worth it.

The older cars dont have sway bars, ours have them..we're just replacing them with stiffer ones to improve handling.

Any rear sway bar that fits a RWD will fit an AWD, but the fronts are not interchangeable. But there's very little benefit to upgrading just the rear sway on the G35, and not every manufacturer sells just the rear set.

Correct. An '06x would already have F&R bars. This is to replace them with slightly stiffer bars

A lot of vehicles do not come with rear bars as a matter of safety. Without a rear bar, the car will tend to push through a turn (understeer) as a matter of design. Most if not all cars today are set up to understeer just because the average driver doesn't know what to do in a oversteer situation.

The stiffer the bar, the more prone that end of the car would be to "step" out in a hard turn. Too stiff of a bar in the rear will cause the rear to want to come around, or oversteer. This is why i am not too thrilled about replacing only the rear bar on a RWD-biased car.

has anyone tried an altima, maxima or gtr front sway bar on the x yet?
just wondering as they are the same basic body and drive the front wheels also, so they may have the clearance for the front diff
