2004 Sedan will not idle after start

I put a new battery in a few days ago. Now the car does not always stay running after starting. I did the Basic ECU reset, the Acc. Pedal released learning, throttle valve closed learning, and the idle air volume learning. I even did the cruising setting of the air/fuel ratio.

Car will stay running if you rev it after starting. It runs perfectly.

Any help or ideas will be appreciated,

Mark

Sounds like the MAF is a problem and is going not sure tho.

How many miles have you driven it? I had a similar problem with mine. I kept the revs up with the throttle and just drove it around for about 10 minutes.

That cleared everything up.

I've driven the car about 20 miles so far.

sounds like a throttle body or MAF issue - quick diagnostics at the dealership should tell you what you need to do - mine does not charge me to hook it up and tell me the problem...I usually go and fix it myself after I know what is exactly wrong.

Are you sure you were able to complete the procedure?

I'm sure I completed the procedures. I had trouble getting the air volume one done. The SES light did not always work as the procedure said, probably a timing issue. I was using a watch to count the seconds.

The problem has to relate to the battery change, doesn't it? I don't see how the MAF or throttle body could be a problem since all was okay before the battery change. I even used my scanner and no problems are indicated.

How long was your battery disconnected for? Did you correctly perform the procedure when the SES light did work?

Battery was disconnected for about 20 minutes. Yes, I did the procedure per the service manual.

Thanks,

Mark
