Test drove TSX, 325xi, and G35 sedan

The TSX feels like a souped up Civic, not exactly what I was looking for. Even my brother who had been talking it up non-stop since he saw it in MotorTrend was highly dissapointed.

After driving those 3, I have decided on the 6MT Sedan. Problem is that my dealer will not sell below MSRP. How much trouble is it to buy outside of my state?

Re: Bought a 6MT Today...

Hi there. I test drove the G35 sedan 6MT in Los Angeles, CA. The ride was fantastic. However, I plan to buy a car and I have a tough decision because I like the Nissan Murano also. What do you think I should do? My pro for buying the Nissan Murano is that I love the CVT and power it delivers for an SUV. CON not much people have it and I may need to wait a year for the car to have any maintenance issues from other drivers. As for the G35 sedan 6MT I love the power and design. I think the only problem I only have is that I never thought I would like this car until I read reviews about the car. Well I am in no rush to buy, but I would like to know if you ever felt the your first choice was not your best choice. Also how much did you get for the out the door not including tax and license. Thank you

I also own an SUV in addition to my car, but truth be told, I would probably never have bought an SUV if I didn't live in a snow-belt state and need the 4WD. The Murano is a slick piece of work. But I love cars first and foremost.

I'd say with you living in LA, you have to ask yourself why you even might want an SUV. It's certainly not an issue of "need" for you.

Pluses are certainly the cargo capacity and high driving position, but other than that, what advantages would it have over a G35 sedan? You can still seat just as many people in the G-sedan, and it's certainly a ton's worth of more fun than any SUV to drive, even one as nice as the Murano.

Generally, I'd say if you like to "drive," get the G. If you need the "utility," get the Murano.

Actually, if you think you need an SUV, the question you should ask yourself is, "Why not get a minivan?"

My wife refuses to drive a minivan, though, so we have an SUV. Oh well. She lets me have the G35, I let her have the SUV.

And "if you think you need boxer shorts, why not get a skirt?" Right?

Yeah sure. Maybe when I have 5 rug rats running around I'll think like that too.

I didn't say you should get a minivan, I said you should think about it.. only because most people with SUV's use them for hauling kids and groceries and never take the things camping or offroading. If you do, then more power to you, and enjoy your SUV.

My wife is one of those who should probably be driving a minivan, but she doesn't for image reasons. Then again, I should probably be driving a Jetta diesel or a Prius instead of my G35.

Re: Bought a 6MT Today...

Sorry man, I thought you were taking a shot at people who drive SUVs in general.

I'm single, so I don't tend to naturally equate the two vehicle types, even in those areas. I mainly keep mine around for the all-weather traction, and to haul large items that my coupe just can't. Minivans seem to be great for hauling lots of kids but not much else. Both have their practical sides, however, people seem to buy SUVs because they want to, but only buy minivans when they have to.

Of course there is one critical distinction between SUVs and minivans. You can get laid sporting an SUV (most of them, anyway). A minivan, however, is nothing short of rolling contraception! (lol)

As usual, yes, the world really does revolve around sex!

Peace,
K

Yeah, well,, I'd guess the coupe would help more in that department than any SUV.
