basically, my harness wont tighten to the positive battery terminal due to corrosion. Therefore, I have trouble starting my car. When I talked to the parts dept at infiniti they said the piece was the positive connector harness, all the way down to the fuse box for $75. I tried searching for pictures, but couldnt find any...sorry pretty new to this forum . Anybody have one for sale? Is it easy to replace? Thanks again!

If your problem is with the actual terminal, then you need part# 24340-7f000 (Gsedan6mt supplied that). If your positive cable has corroded and does not have a good connection with the terminal (there are 2 main + cables off the terminal that bolt on) then you need the + harness section.

Bump

Having a similar issue with my 04' coupe... My cable on the positive side was wearing down pretty bad and would have to be jiggled in order to get the car to start sometimes. Took it to a body shop to get some work done and they ended up just cutting the wire and shoving it into the terminal....

I'm not sure what part this is, it connects the actual cable to the + battery terminal itself. It is NOT part #24340-7F000 - but rather the piece that would connect that part to the Battery cable itself. Couldn't find the part # on any diagrams... Pics included.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Sweet Jesus they bypassed the fusible link (overcurrent protection) and landed directly on the battery!

Get that fixed today, like right now, you are now at significant risk of accidentally burning your car to the ground if something fails on the starter.

Next time just buy a new fusible link if it's not making contact on the battery, they're like $20 for the holder and takes maybe 10 minutes to fix. Now you need to replace the holder AND the positive battery cable which is like $30 and takes over an hour to replace...

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah this body shop was an absolute **** show. Tried to "save me money" but cutting corners and not even properly blend paint on the car... no wonder they had no problem doing dumb **** like this.

So you're saying I need to replace the entire cable itself as well as the fusible link holder? Would that be the large plastic looking part that connects the starter to the battery? Do you have a part # by any chance? Is it possible to just get the part they cut and connect the wire back that way?

As far as I am aware the fusible link is fine... what I need is the part which connects the cable to the link. Would I just need to get a whole new cable? Guessing you can't buy just that part.

Forwarded from PM's since it might helps folks in the future.

The fusible link has a battery attachment that bolts to the battery. It carries a bunch of fuses as well as having two posts on the top that the starter battery cable attaches to (it only bolts to one of them).

If battery won't clamp securely then typically you would just buy a new fusible link battery terminal, they can also be salvaged from pretty much any Nissan in a wrecking yard, it's pretty much universal I believe.

The battery cable can be "fixed" with a generic battery crimp, you should try to get an estimate from a shop because it's a lot cheaper than replacing the cable if you're paying a shop to do it.

Here's a link to Z1 Motorsports, you can find the manufacturer part number for the fusible link battery connector but the Doorman replacement one is only like $15 from AutoZone.

Fusible link holder

I re-read my reply and I misspoke about the fuse holder itself needing replaced, I meant that the battery terminal part that attaches it to the fusible link needs to be replaced.

Your local Nissan dealership carries that part so you can take the part number to them if it's easier.

Thanks a ton Eric. Ended up finding the part (#24340-7F000) at my local Nissan dealer for like $10.00. Went to O'reilly and found a generic battery crimp to put the old wire into. It might not be factory but it works like a charm!

Nissan wanted 300 bucks for an entire new positive cable with that little arm that attaches to (#24340-7F000)...
