No, I have had it done with 3M by John at 3M Trimline in Mississauga on 2 cars 3M Trimline

and I had my FX done in Newmarket by Sean with Ventureshield at The Detailing Shop The Detailing Shop

I am talking the full bumper wrap and front end, mirrors, back end by the trunk.

Sorry Janik back to your problem.
Get the Clear bra if you are going to keep the car.

Oh, I was talking pure front end and half hood. No mirrors or rears!

Janik, do the tape. Look around for the photos of blackmax and his awesome tape job. Don't tell me you don't have time on your hands!

Think of it this way: if you don't protect it at all, you'll have to repaint in a year or two. If you spend a few $$ on a leather bra -- same result. If you take the $$ you would spend on a leather bra and repaint, it's probably more than a clear bra. I understand cash flow is an issue. Maybe wait to repaint until you can afford the clear.

Id painter tape is, but i dont wanna run around FL with tape all over my front end, Graaaa. I'll look into doing a clear bra after i get my front repainted. I'll see if i can split the cost with my parents or something, but if they are like $500+ bucks, i cant swing that right now and i'll have to painter tape lol.

+1 With one addition: Janik, you have to think about how much you drive dude. For you the clear bra is worth it more than most.

I say get over yourself and your image issue. You're on a budget and the tape is the inexpensive way to save your paint. Put it on for the drive down, take it off when you get there, and put it back when you go home.
You already have plans to get it repainted (I need to do my front as well) so if you get a couple of small chips driving around in Florida it won't kill you.

I know you're very **** about your car, I still remember a post you made about waxing the door jambs a while back. At that piont I thought 'this kid's crazier than me'. But in the end it's just a car and whatever gets messed up can be fixed. Finally, if you're self-conscious about driving with the tape just look at it this way. As people are pointing your car out to each other on the drive, think of who's getting the really big chips and road wear. Who's laughing now, right??

I know haha its not so much people pointing at my car and stuff, but i dont wanna be taking it on and off etc. I'll be spending a few days at a time in certain locations and dont need to be running around with tape on.

I didnt think the leather bras were that bad to your paint (a couple iv seen had like a silk underneath and i figured if the car was washed when i put it on, i wouldnt have an issue as it would only be on for a day or so at the most??)

But i guess if i cant swing the clear bra, i'll just painters tape. It really isn't that big of a deal with me, i was just looking for easier options..

If you are getting the front end painted, I would wait a while before doing any of the applications. It would be nice to let the paint set for a few weeks or whatever it takes.

That should be enough time if you have it done just before you leave. Do you park in the garage or outside?
