x100 @ Marcus quoting Ron Burgundy
I'm the one who did the swap Marcus was quoting from. What I did was go with the 05 rear bumper, and have the lower sills on the rest of the car painted to mach at the same time. Here's the result:

(sorry about the lent on the lens)
A couple of notes on the swap:
You will probably have to trim the foam padding behind the bumper cover a bit to make it fit right.
You will need the "mudguards" to make it line up. Don't confuse "mudguards" for "splashguards" just read the entire thread on NFSPMotorsports, I explain all that there, actually read all the way through both those threads Marcus posted
The tag bracket is different. I had to custom build something to hold the tag because the 05 bumper I got didn't have the tag bracket with it.
On the note of the hole for the button; you can have it filled, or get the button to put in there and swap for a non doggy door trunk. Personally, I'm going to use the spot to mount a backup camera.
If you have any questions about the swap feel free to ask, I'll do my best to help you out. Hope all goes well with your modding
is there a reason you went thru the trouble of getting and installing an 05 bumper rather than purchasing a Nismo rear lip? 05 guys want 03 04 bumpers to get the the rear balance and you went the other way around hehe Just wondering though.. don't take it the wrong wayOriginally Posted by nfsp1

^I not gonna take that the wrong way at all, it's a very good question.
My 03 bumper was damaged, so to go Nismo would have been $$$ for a new bumper, + $$$$$$$ for the Nismo lip (it's just waaay too much for a stupid rear lip IMHO) and I like the way the 05 looks almost as much as the Nismo lip anyway (got to admit it's 1000x better than the stock 03 with no lip
)
I also got a deal on the 05, so it was about $50 less than what I could have got an 03 bumper for. Granted the mudguards made it more expensive, but Marcus bought my old ones so he could go 03/Nismo so that offset the price and it all worked out in the end
As a funny side note, I'm buying Marcus' splash guards (the things that go over the mudguards) for mine

^ lol now i see, it makes sense, i thought your 03 was in perfect condition and you swapped it just for the looks. Stillen lip is another option in place of the nismo. Alot of people don't like the difusser part but i think that can be shaved off by a good shop. I ended up buying Vivek's Stillen, installing it in the spring

^Sweet.
Na the 03 was damaged. Funny too because there were quite a number of people with damaged 03 bumpers at the same time as me
If a few more 05/06 owners were on their toes they would have had a good chance to swap for Nismo. Or 03/04 people could have sold theirs to do an 05/06 swap. I don't think many people pay that much attention to the differances though.

That is one thing I like though about the 05 rear (or Nismo) painted sills, lower suspension, nice little mods like that. It makes the car look good in a way that's not clearly obvious at first. I've had more than one person complement my car and ask what year it was, then be shocked that it's 7 years old.
Little things really do add up.
I can't wait till my car is 10 years old and looks even better

I got a deal that I couldn't pass up on the Nismo rear. Paid less than half of what it cost new, which is great because no matter what I would have to have it repainted since Lakeshore Slate wasn't a color option for the 03-04s.Originally Posted by nfsp1

amen same here lol like wine it gets better with age lol , people that don't know the difference between the changes on the 03-04 and 05-06 always think my car is 05 06 cuz is always clean and shiny, but sometimes the doggy door gives it away

btw marcus, thanks for the info that the 2005 headlights are a direct swap for the 03
Yeah I'm a newbie, when did I say that the headlights were a direct swap...LOL.Originally Posted by Texan1

^Yeah, @ < 1/2 price, I may have looked more in that direction. Thanks again for helping out with those parts, and for the splashguards. Sounds like you're getting really close to doing the swap on yours. ETA?

..........you are not a newbie, not recent forum member, not stock, not zero i-trader and not 300 post count and NOT telling me or others that BS about the stock 05 to 03 headlight swap.....
LOL, it was just that the OP was like "that's great candlestick, but can anyone else chime in.........when you first responded....just making fun of that.
