03-04 to 05+ color matched body

I'd really like to know what the 03-04 guys are doing who have upgraded to a color matched body?

I have an 03.0 and trying to figure out the most economocal way to freshin up my G sedan.

Are you just tossing on someones extra 05+ body pieces or painting the bottom part of your stock kit? I have heard that the newer front bumper won't work, the newer sideskirts don't fit either, and of course I have the doggy door rear, so I have a rear bumper without a popper.

For exterior body parts that you may be looking to switch up, the 05-06 side skirts, rear bumper**, and trunk are interchangeable with an 03-04 (you can also swap out your tail lights).

**You'll also need to pick up the 05-06 mudguards for the rear bumper to line up properly with the area behind the rear wheel.

Many people just either paint their lowers or get a body kit. Not a whole lot of folks have gone with an 05-06 sides and rear.

Ok, I was told otherwise that basicly no later bodywork would fit an 03.0. Can anyone else confirm this for me? Remember I do have the unique rear bumper, so I think I will at least have to get that painted.

^You can take my word for everything I said....trust me.

What's unique about your rear bumper? Here is some more info for you on the rear bumper swap.

Thanks guys. I didn't want to say it, but do you know who I am. As Ron Burgundy put it: I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.....LOL

OP, I'm really a humble guy and am totally joking (but I do know what I'm talking about in my post).

Thanks Marcus for the info. Sorry guys, I am new to the G sedan community and just don't know my stuff yet. Its good to know everything is plug and play.

Now regards the rear bumper, a newer one will fit, but I have 03.0 doggy door trunk popper located on the trunk lid itself. The 03.5+ has a trunk popper that is located on the rear bumper right, so that would either need to be filled in, or be non functional?

No... only the 05-06 sedans have the trunk button under the left tail light assemly... but you are correct. It will either need to be filled in or non functional.

03-04 have doggy door or no doggy door.

When I was thinking of ways to freshen up the look of my sedan I went with the NISMO Aero body kit.

I'm the one who did the swap Marcus was quoting from. What I did was go with the 05 rear bumper, and have the lower sills on the rest of the car painted to mach at the same time. Here's the result:

(sorry about the lent on the lens)

A couple of notes on the swap:
You will probably have to trim the foam padding behind the bumper cover a bit to make it fit right.
You will need the "mudguards" to make it line up. Don't confuse "mudguards" for "splashguards" just read the entire thread on NFSPMotorsports, I explain all that there, actually read all the way through both those threads Marcus posted
The tag bracket is different. I had to custom build something to hold the tag because the 05 bumper I got didn't have the tag bracket with it.
On the note of the hole for the button; you can have it filled, or get the button to put in there and swap for a non doggy door trunk. Personally, I'm going to use the spot to mount a backup camera.

If you have any questions about the swap feel free to ask, I'll do my best to help you out. Hope all goes well with your modding

If I could actually find a twilight blue 03 sedan I would be happy to swap trunks. I'm one of the few that really likes the doggy door.

how the hell can anyone trust that newbie, candlestick.......hell, give the OP some slack for doubting marcus, it's obvious marcus just joined, has never modded his G, has a nonexistent i-trader rating and has too few post-count to be credible

btw marcus, thanks for the info that the 2005 headlights are a direct swap for the 03
