Warranty Brakes Pads - not as good as originals?

I had my front brake pads and rotors replaced under warrany at 24k. The new pads are supposed to last a lot longer but my subjective sense is that the new pads are not as effective at stopping the car. It is probably just getting used to a little more pedal pressure that the new pads call for - as opposed to the OEM pads which were perhaps a little more grabby.

Has anyone done any objective tests? What do you think?

Wow, you went 24k on the brakes, that's not bad, mostly highway?

i think you are correct. They are definitely less touchy than the originals... overall, i do in fact feel a difference, but it is not that significant.

I'd have to see a before and after test because I had mine changed last week at 20K miles and I do not notice any difference at all.

Where did you hear that they were going to last longer? I don't even know if that is true.

I had my second set of pads replaced at 30K miles. They
lasted 15K miles. These were the warranty replacement ones.
They seemed to be identical to the OEM ones in stopping
performance. They stopped Great! wore out just as fast.

Highway but mostly in DC metro traffic . I should be driving harder . Frankly, not that many places where you can do fun driving unless you get out to Virginia or MD mountain areas.

I thought Inifiniti had in fact put in pads with longer life - not sure why I thought that. Perhaps not. I will take a look and see how these do in terms of life.

Re: Warranty Brakes Pads - not as good as originals?

I had my brake pads replaced about 2k miles ago at 15k, and I still think they don’t stop my car as well as the original pads did, but I will admit that they're still much better than the average car. In addition, these new pads are just as dusty as the originals, if not worse, so I’m not sure what their advantage is over the old pads. I'll probably go to aftermarket pads once my warranty expires.

Re: Warranty Brakes Pads - not as good as original

I inquired about the replacement pads being different, and was told by at least 3 different Infiniti people that they are different. supposed to last longer, of course, that won't help some drivers, I have known people who go through brakes quickly no matter what they drive!

I actually drop my car off tomorrow for new pads as I get a constant squeal everytime I brake, I only have 19,000 on them.
