I had a Maxima that I traded before lease end to get the G35. I had to pay "early termination penalties" which almost equalled 4 months of lease payments. They also look at mileage and assess any penalties if you are over the max per year.

Fortunately I changed dealers and to get me business they discounted the G35 to offset the penalties I had to pay.

There are companies that will look for people to take over your lease (provided they qualify). In Canada one company is "Lease Busters" at http://www.leasebusters.com

Well another 2 people came up to me after school saying they are buying my car next weeka nd they are best friends and were fighting about it HAHAHA. These are kids i went to HS with and previously posted a crazy week i had int he middle of the summer witht his kid who go into 3 accident in 3 weeks with his IS300, i witnessed 2 of them!! He is getting money for a new car and said he will give me money for everything i put in, his father has so much money and loved the car hmmm, i might do it! Then maybe jump in an 05 or M3!!

Well his IS300 was used and he wanted mine because i got hooked up on my lease. My car with Aero package and everything u can get except nav, im paying 430 a month with 15k miles!! This aero kit was unseen and unheard of when i got it last year, no one saw it and was rare to me! My friends father is part owner of jaguar,cadillac and infiniti of northshore here in NY and he gave me a good deal. My car was just over 40k, i pay 430 a month and my buy out is 23 or 24k when the lease is up!! Total payments for $430 a month for 36 months is $15,480. Some say its stupid to lease because you dont own the car but there are also other factors that you have to look at. If you get bored and tired of cars easily and fast then you want to lease, if you drive under bad road conditions or any conditions its good for a lease because it wont drop the value on a car you own like getting in an accident and you fix it and give it back without taking a loss. A few other things but just a few.

Gap insurance and the convenience of never having to sell a car.

If you liek to dump cars every two years then leasing isn't as good. My residual is $17xxx on a sticker'd car $34475 for 4 yrs and 60k miles.

I recommend gap insurance for 5 and 6 year loans too. The gap i still there even if you do own it. And when an owner buys it he/she is protecting thier investment while lesee's pays the gap premium to protect the leasing co and not you...kind of like that lovely PMI i used to pay. PS you dont actually HAVE to pay that one if you know how to get around it.

I just drove a 260hp G35 loaner and the acceleration was pretty insane. I don't know where that extra 38hp came from.... but the 2005 sedan is going to be scary fast to say the least.

Oddly, the 2005 updates for the Z don't mention any HP/torque increases. The article for the Nissan lineup still says 287/274 for the 350Z coupe and roaster. Do you think they'll be jealous of 4 doors now?

If i had to guess, less restrictive exhaust/headers, new programing for the cpu, and premium 91 octane only.

Also take into consideration that this rating is not to the wheels, and is only at the crank. so who knows how much of that extra hp will actually make it to the wheels. gotta watch out for tricky marketing on infiniti's part. But any hp increase is always cool with me to bad my car is paid for, otherwise i'd be more tempted into trading it in for a 2005. Right now i like having no payments.

Although if they fix the seat control, that might tempt me enough to do it.

still can't beleive they can crank almost 40hp with those mods. My guess is the Sedan is actually already close to 275hp like the japanese version. Getting 23 more hp with ecu/exhaust/headers is possible.

 

This horsepower increase could well be more the work of the Marketing Department than it is the work of the Research & Development/Engineering Department at Nissan (Infiniti).

It does seem odd that they would publish significantly higher horsepower numbers for a 6MT Sedan than they do for ANY model of the 350Z, doesn't it?? Either we get a revision of the 350Z horsepower numbers soon, or this horsepower "gain" is suspect, in my opinion.

Since the basic car remains the same, with only minor cosmetic changes that do not upset or alter the chassis weight distribution or balance, the proof of all these increased horsepower ratings will be in the puddin' - a straight up 0-60 and 1/4 mile roadtest with accurately recorded data.

I'm sure all of the car magazines are chompin' at the bit to take an '05 6MT Sedan for a spin, to compare to the '04 numbers. My guess is that the numbers will improve, but not to the degree that 38 HP should add.

You guys ever think that, witht he new exhuast, ecu headers or whatever they are putting into this car to get these gains are like aftermakret products to get it? I wonder if when you go to mod an 05 you wont gain anything because there were already aftermarket parts ont he car coming fromt he factory to push it to that HP HAHAH!!!
