Rear window tint & defroster

I'm the 3rd owner of a 03 (80k, great shape exept for pressure rod creak)
& was wondering if the use of the rear window defroster could mess up the
aftermarket tinted film on it. I'm thinking small amounts of heat on the wiring
could possibly unglue/damage the film around it. Think so?

***Enjoying my commute now...very much.

Nope. You'll be fine.

The opposite is true. if you ever wanted to remove the film, you need to be careful with the tint sticking to the defrost wires. It can damage the wires. Special techniques are needed to remove tint from the back window to avoid this

Yeah it should be fine. When the rear window tint was installed they recommend not turning on the defroster for a few days but after its good.

Good to know. I haven't used mine since I got my windows tinted because I was worried about it bubbling.

There should be absolutely no issues. I've had 4 cars now with tinted rear windshields... and none of them have ever bubbled. The rear defroster isn't what causes it to bubble... it's sun, age, and window cleaner with ammonia in it. The combination of all those makes it bubble around the wires... the heat from the wires themselves don't cause it.. its just the first place age will show
