So I was installing my factory sirius radio (again), and I took out the carpeted trunk mat with the Infiniti logo, and under it was an identical carpeted trunk mat without the logo. Are all our cars like this? It seems redundant to have two of them. Car is a '04 G35x

 

Yes. The logo mat is an option. I beleive it's $80...or at least was for my '06.


So the bottom mat is standard fare, and then the top one is an add on feature.

Mine didn't come with the logo one, it was one of the pieces i stole out of our 04 before we got rid of it lol

 

I got one the logo one's off a member here. When I got mine used, it had a matt from a altima or a maxima, because it didn't fit right. It was close, but the logo one is nice.

That's interesting, I have two carpeted trunk mats but neither one of them have a logo.

 

I have one that's just normal black carpet, and one on top that says "G35".

weird how my trunk is black, when I have willow interior, huh? always thought it was weird

My logo one is in need of a SERIOUS cleaning. You guys would laugh if you've seen the stuff i put in my trunk. I've had two transmissions, and a rear axle housing in my trunk (not at same time), wheels, cylinder heads, etc. I just need an engine block in there and i've had an entire driveline

 

Mine has the non logo and logo carpet mats also. As I recall it was an added option available.

 

I sold my logo one for $40

Well, it wasn't all at the same time exactly.

No pic of the rear axle in the trunk, but here are two 5-spd manuals I rebuilt and needed to transport. It's all clean stuff, i wouldn't put greasy dirty stuff in there....just stuff you wouldn't expect to carry around in a G35

 

an "identical" mat is very uncommon... they all have a bare-bones mat (thin and similar to the side panels)... the carpeted mat with emblem is an option (that goes over the thin mat). If you got two carpeted mats that's very unusual...
