FORGET EBAY !! 200 plus shipping per headlight. just take a bat break both and call ur insurance company. $500 deductible = 2 brand new oem headlights and if your front bumper paint is bad hit that too. blame it all on vandals

OMG. G35s have been way way too affordable. You're in an idiot, joking or not, you're an idiot.

What the previous posters are referring to with the blacked out headlights on eBay is that they're not meant for HID lights, only Halogen. So if you're fine with a non-HID setup then go ahead. Read around and you'll find that most everyone hasn't been happy with them and they end up doing their own.

This brings up the question of anyone taken the cheap ebay headlights and just using the lens on their factory lights. Get to keep the factory housing and guts and use a new lens. Seems like a cheap option for those with the xenon lights if the lens fits the factory housing.

Pretty sure G35Papa did this a while back. I remember him saying that the lens didn't fit perfectly over the OEM tabs of the lights, but it worked.

I want to know why headlights seem to fog up or oxidize or whatever. I saw an 03 Altima today, the headlights were milky and yellow and terrible looking, but the clear covers on the taillights looked almost new. What gives?????!?!

I'm almost positive 3M and Meguire's have worked out some special deal with Nissan to set an expiration date on their headlights.

Oh yeah, I forgot...
OP, try masking around your headlights and put PlastX on a buffer. I did this and worked it around for about 30 mins/side and it helped a lot.
I need to really put some work into my lights and then get some laminx or something, but I'm not going to do that until after I do my projector retrofit.

Composite/Plastic headlights have a coating on them to protect them from the elements and UV rays. As that coating gets chipped away and eaten from bug acids there is nothing left to protect the lens from the elements and UV rays. Like all plastic... it will start to get weathered once all the protection is worn away and its exposed.

Corner lights do not need the clarity that a headlight does nor do they which is why they alway look good. Aside from the fact that they are not in a direct impact area on the vehicle. If they where completely clear like a headlight and went through the same abuse you would see them act the same way.

And this is why i pay $1800/year to insure a 4-year old 4-door sedan with a perfectly clean record
