Brakes Smoking brakes...

I am in the process of test driving a 06 G35 sedan and I need some help from you guys.

I just gave my wife a ride around the neighborhood. (a fairly hot lap) And when I got back to my driveway the brakes were smoking! The smoke was not acrid or burning just white steady light puffs of smoke. Should I be concerned?

Maybe I just turned in a Mario Andretti lap on this poor driving miss dairy G35. The reason I say driving miss daisy is that there are several signs that this was owned by a mom with little kids.

Please help.

Front brakes or rear brakes?

I have had both of my rear calipers replaced under warranty because they locked up.

steam and smoke are obviously two different things...did it have a smell? were the brakes brand new?

I was pretty freaked out...especially since I don't own the car yet. I am simply on an overnight test drive. Maybe I should take an easy lap and see if they still smoke. Also when peering through the wheels should i be able to see writing on the arm assembly behind the wheels? Looks like some small white writing.

oh, thats fine, if you look under the rear of the car, most bolts have that on-them/around-them, its a inspection mark and to see if anyone messed with the bolts.
