^ How did you manage to get it to work like that? Only negative thing about having a second remote is that by accident I managed to start my car a couple of times without me knowing. Luckily when the car turns on it sounds pretty loud as it's high in RPM for a few seconds. Now I check the car here and there from time to time to see if it's on (by seeing if the lights are on).

Most remote start systems have a negative input to start them, generally it is hooked up to the negative lock wire. Downside is that most vehicles factory key fobs do not function once the car is on, so you have to unlock the door with a key. Sometimes you lose one conveniance feature for another. I prefer a two-way remote system so that if you hit a button on the remote, it tells you if it reached the car and performed that function.

Actually Ford and Gm and some other dealerships have been offering 'factory' remote starts for years. When I moved back up here from Richmond, I worked for a company that serviced a few dealerships in the northern virginia and maryland area. I would go to the dealer, hit up the person was in charge of upgrades, get the keys and paperwork. I would then go to the parts deparment and pick up the parts needed. At the ford dealer, they were crimestopper systems that came in boxed plastered in ford parts stickers. At the chevy dealers, they were dei(viper) systems, no repackaging. Do the job(s), show the person in charge how and that it did work, move to the next dealer. During the height of busy season, I would have 3-4 explorers and 2-3 expeditions lined up in a row and work on them like an assembley line. This was outside in ANY weather: downpours, snow, blazing heat.
Apparently my G had a remote start system. But only pieces/parts remained. I had it removed because it was causing the i-key functions to act all loopy. Would love to get an autostart system that can interact with all i-key functions.
