car problem's
Hey guys I got an issue. I was bout to start the car and the battery was dead. I used my booster pack to jump it off. Check the voltage and it was at 13.5v when running n park. I got to where I was going and when I hit the lock button on the remote the horn went off as if u had my hand in horn steadily. Only thing I can think happened was I went thru a big puddle of water cuz of all snow melting n Dallas. When I pushed the lock button on door and closed it the interior light didn't go off. Mayb that's why battery was dead. Any suggestions

Thx for responding guy. Im really fustrated here. I was out checking things out. Im on aftermarket battery. I think its holding charge. I unhooked the battery for about an hour and horns stays constant when i push the lock button, only goes off when i turn the key on. So im trying isolate the issue. When i have the key on and push the horn it just beeps. With the key off and push the horn it stays constant. So its not the keyless entry. Its something that grounds out when ignition is on that times the horn i think. any suggestions

Another update:
I went downstairs to check on car. The alarm was going off. It was faint like the battery was low. I read ealier that the alarm will go off if the battery is dead. I charged up the battery and checked the voltage. Its stayed consitent with the negative undone. When i hooked the negative up and turned the alarm on something is constantly sucking the voltage down. Now i think its something to do with the alarm. Factory security. Will have battery checked in the morning

not trying to be funny but do you have ANYTHING plugged in?? i.e. phone charger, ipod???
I went through 2 batteries in less than a year because I left my phone charger plugged into the center console, and that particular charger was pulling more than it was supposed to... when I plugged it into a wall I could hear it. LOL

I would say buy an optima or return that battery. (if it's not factory) if it's factory then I have no idea. Go buy a high quality battery like Optima red/yellow top or a purple haze. Keep everything unplugged in the car.
My Lincoln had a door relay problem so it always thought the doors were opening. It would turn the light on in the middle of the night and drain my battery, which blew my mind because obviously with the dead battery the lights wouldn't be on. Took a long time to figure that out, so I pulled the fuse for the interior lights. Now I just don't have any. Hopefully your problem isn't that weird.
Good luck, let us know what happens.

Update: As i figured the battery is fine. I left it unhooked all nite and it held a charge. I just finished installing a stillen g2 and after i checked the horn and alarm. The horn just beeped like normal. When i hit the lock button on fob the horn just beeped like normal too. I took the car to oriely and they said battery is good. Everything seems to be working fine now. I dont know what the deal is, hopefully it will stay working

You you have a digital multimeter? You need one that reads Amps in DC current.
Unhook one cable from the battery and hook the meter up in series. You need to see how many amps the car is drawing when in a "rest" state. You could have a short somewhere or excess current draw that is draining the battery when the car is off. The alt and batt could both be perfectly fine, but the current draw will keep draining the battery.
Unfortunarely, DMM's that measure DC current are not a common feature. Have any friends that are electricians??

I have one. Not sure how to use it though. Which setting do i turn the dial? I also remember when i turned the alarm on last nite when it wasnt working right that the led didnt stay lit like when its working normally. Now that everything seems to b normal its staying on for bout 30 secs then flash. On the multimeter what do i do? thx
