DCA is usually not on all DMM's....at least up to 10A
The symbol for DC is a straight line on top with 3 dotted lines under. AC will be a wavy line. You need a meter that also measures usually up to 10A DC current.
EDIT: I did find this cheap meter which does DCA up to 10A for under $15

My opinion...if you are gonna work on cars at all, a DMM that measures DC current is a good thing to have

Having a decent multimeter is a must.
Actually, I think I got my craftsman for $25 and it does 10A too. Might have been a sale though, I don't remember.

I think i have one of those too.
I used to be an electrician....so i got a few high dollar ones I use.
