Car&Driver got 5.8sec when they tested a 6mt sedan, will be interesting when someone does better then that, NA of course. I have to say timing myself just isn't something I'll ever bother to do, I'm just not into the kind of hard launch that would require. Quck clean shifts interest me more while operating in the 5-60+mph range, not the same as 0-60 or course.

My fastest time with the Escort G-Timer 2 was 5.65 seconds. I have an Aem cold air intake, and custom made dual exhaust. I can consistantly pull 5.7 - 5.8 range. I found my car to be a half second + slower if I had more than a 1/4 tank of gas.

 

Is there a big difference with the mods you put on it?

 

I don't know, I never tested it stock. But is sure sounds louder, which makes it seem faster.

 

What about a G35x 0-60 times?

Also, how much weight does the all-wheel drive add?

 

Most mags peg the X at about 6.5 sec 0-60. The weight penalty is about 300# over a similarly-equipped sedan. Leather is not an option, but a requirement FWIW.

The car is by no means a dog, as I ran a 14.7 with only a drop-in filter. Compare to RWD 5AT sedans, and this is right about the same stock-for-stock.

Mine was 5.4 on a Gtech with my 19's.... But again i dont know how accurate it is but anyway with lighter wheels and 17's or 16's i could imagine it being around the same area!

Never timed it, but it usually feels like a high 6 second vehicle with the VDC off. Most of the times, it feels like a low 7 second car. I have asked the dealer about it, and get the standard BS - "it's within the factory specs" Oh well, wish I had my 93 GMC Typhoon and those low 5 second times!!! (I will call my brother and ask him to go make a run in it and take an audio of the it.)
