Re: Ready to give up.....

This is so funny....I had the same experience trying to find a DP/G with Prem. Xenons and Wood (Non-Sport, No Spoiler) here in N.C. I found all kind of Silver/G with what I wanted but 3 different dealers said no DP/G was on the radar at that time.I finally found a 2003 on an internet used car site and it was in Winston-Salem about 45 min. from my house. It had with 12,700 mi. and everything I wanted - but it had Nav. which I didn't want. I negotiated and bought it for same price as similar car without Nav.....the Nav. was a freebie(so to speak). Good luck with your hunt and I hope ya find a good deal.

Re: Ready to give up.....

A used car dealer that is a friend of mine is going to auction tomorrow. There are 2 Silver Sedans coming across the block with low mileage and what appears to be exactly what we want. I am crossing my fingers now, especially since it looks like we dodged another hurricane!

Wouldn't that be more like the hurricane dodged you?

@#$@#$@!#$!@#$!@#$#@$. I just got off the phone with my friend. No luck on the car. Both coming across auction today were base model cloth. Could pick one up cheap, but it wouldn't even be close to what we want. The search for the Unicorn continues. Sadly there are 3 used silver sedan with willow leather and wood around here, unfortnately both of us find that combo to be really unappealing.

I agree, that is not that great a combo, when I bought my G, they had one '03 left, it was BS and Willow, I probably could have got a better deal on that one, but no thanks! Who the hell came up with that combination, geez!

Re: Ready to give up.....

That's the surest way to find the car you REALLY want - just settle for the Accord. Then, within 7 days of leaving the lot with your new Accord, you'll see the "G" you wanted, probably at the stoplight in the lane next to you, with someone test driving it !!

That's not the way we want it to be, but alas - it's the law!

Re: Ready to give up.....

I seriously hope you're kidding. Would you really give up on getting a G for an Accord b/c you couldn't find the right color? I had a Des Plat/Graphite auto and ended up trading it in on a Diamond Graphite/Graphite 6MT. I really wanted the same color but I haven't second-guessed the trade at all. The nice gray color is really growing on me.

Tell me you're not serious.

Re: Ready to give up.....

Nah, not really serious, just frustrated. I check autotrader, cars.com, ebay, carmax, and carsdirect.com every freakin day and still no luck. Nothing coming across at auction either. There is a big Infiniti auction coming up Oct. 12th, but I was really hoping to avoid waiting that long. I started looking at the math, and I would have to be insane to buy an 04' new right now when 04's with 18K miles are rolling across the auction loaded for 25K. If I go new, I'll wait for an 05. Drive a new 04' off the lot and I lose like 5K+ INSTANTLY.

Re: Ready to give up.....

nooooo, not an Accord. Didn't you read the latest Motor Trend. It has an article about the TL which is based on the Accord, MT said it is booooring.
Here in the So Cal, there are tons of BS sedan which is way too common. Now it's a bad time to choose the car you want b/c the 05s are coming.... but please don't give up, check out the infinite website to locate your car.
I located mine last month and according to the dealer, it is the last tb/willow 6 mt in the western US...so there's hope.

Wait, if they are across the auction for 25k, that is pretty much wholesale, so selling it yourself would bring more I am sure, and of course the dealer isn't going to let it go for 25k, unless it's sub-par! I am still seeing '03's here for like 27k. (not a lot for sale though)

Sorry about your tough luck so far. 10/12 isn't that far away - or you could do like me and 6 months later trade it in (and get kind of screwed) for the one you really want. You're right to buy used. The payments are so much nicer. It's too much of a hit for very little gain. I may never buy new again.
