Ok, I think I am looking for a unicorn. I have been trying to buy a freaking G35 for over a month now with NO success. New or Used, don't care at this point. The reason being is I want a silver sedan with the graphite leather/premium package. Apparently this car does not exist in the SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES. The 3 dealerships I have been to have all refused to find me one, and since I told them I didn't want one of the gazillion Desert Platinum sedans they had is stock, now they won't return my calls. I offered the guy $500 over invoice on an 04' that was supposedly on its way into the dealership, and they told me no. I am honestly flabbergasted that a car dealership actually DOESN"T want to sell me a car.

 

I had a hard time finding mine as well, and to make it even more challenging I wanted the 6 speed. But my dealer was finally able to come through and get me exactly what I wanted. Have you check the Infiniti web site out? You can look at dealer stock online, its was reasonable up to date when I was looking.

 

I find that interesting, since I see way more silver G's than DP here in NYC. I actually like the look of the DP over the silver. (The wife and I actually took an hour to decide after see the two cars side by side.) The silver is just too common among all cars.

Back to your question - Why don't you place and order for a new 05 silver sedan?

G4 pretty much summed it up. The 05' is most certainly going to be out of the budget with anything close to the options we want. I'm the type of guy who doesn't want to just get a "base" model car so I can have a certain model. If I buy a car it is gonna be exactly what I want (especially when spending 30K+). Frankly I am pretty shocked that with the incredibly high dealer stocks around here, better deals on the 04's aren't to be found. I actually negotiated a better deal 2 years ago when they first hit the dealerships than I was able to get this go around.

 

That's not necessarily true. But, since there are only three dealers in his area, it may be for him. I got my 03.5 for $500 over invoice, without any bargaining. (except I told him I was going to get the new Maxima.) (Do we really know the dealer invoice?)

Wow. That's terrible... I had two dealerships fighting to get me the same car (long story) at one point. Refusing to find and ship one is just sad.

Try carmax.com. They can ship the cars anywhere in the U.S. for a fee. They've got a lot of G's right now. You could try cars.com for a used one too.

Thanks guys for the tips. I thought about looking into other dealerships outside of my area, but the shipping costs pretty much kill the deal. The one dealership that did offer to do a locate wanted over a grand to bring the car in.

 

I was just at Infiniti of Tampa yesterday and I could have sworn that I saw one on the lot. They had about every color available with a 6sp. Most with a graphite interior. Maybe you could work out a special "Hurricane" deal...get it before Ivan does.

Tampa may have had one at this point. They were supposed to take delivery of one in late September, but it may have already shown up. They were the dealership that just flat out told me no on that car. No counter offer, nothing. Just said $200 under invoice including dealer fee on anything on the lot, we won't sell you anything that is on the way. Unfortunately most everything on the lot was black or Desert Platinum. The only silver one they had was 6mt with willow leather. Gotta have an auto for the ol' lady!
