Yeah, $2K won't touch a full body paint at the better shops around here either.

Exactly. I inquired about my '05 Pathfinder because of rust by the license plate, and they said the same thing. Basically, the rust has to eat through the metal before it'd be covered by the corrosion warranty.

yeah, when i got rear ended last year i got almost 7k in damages.

additionally, in the case of the doors rusting out, since extensive bodywork like that tends to run so much, i would simply look into replacing the doors outright and having them stripped and painted.
