I'm sure it handles quite well for a FWD car, as I'm sure the new Mazda 6 does, also. However, it's still FWD. There's an extra level of balance and agility that comes from a RWD platform. That's why the Corvette, Miata, 350Z, all BMW's, and many other performance vehicles are RWD platforms. With the Maxima, the comfort and value is there, and it's a fun car. But I'm getting into Solo2 autocrossing, and RWD was a definate want for me.
