Re: Trade for FX35
uhm, there is a car review in car and driver, one of the more recent magazines, and it compares the FX45 to the BMW X5 4.6 and the ML55 AMG, the FX45 beats both in 0-60, quarter mile times, price, braking, and skidpad!, so....very impressive.
Re: Trade for FX35
Alright, very impressive performance numbers, indeed.
One last test to convince me on the FX though. Let's take an FX and X5, get them both up to about 30MPH, point them at one another, and wait until they come to a complete stop after an off-center head-to-head collision.... I'll take the X5 for this run, and don't forget to buckle up ;-)

In that particular test, I think I'd rather be in a Volvo XC90.

Re: Trade for FX35
I just took my G in for a Nav sys malfunction. The salesman tossed me a set of keys for an FX 45. Got to drive it for two days. GREAT engine. Handled nice. People would go out of their ways to ask what kind of "spaceship" I was driving. The 20" wheels turn heads as well. Don't think I can justify $50+K for it but, as far as a loaner goes, it was a BLAST.
Re: Trade for FX35
You got a FX45 as a loaner????
damn!!! I couldn't even get a G... they stuck me in an I30... note, not even an I35, but an I30..... <sigh>...
where do you live??? Maybe I ought to be going to your dealer instead....

Re: Trade for FX35
Let me get this straight, you are driving a G that costs 30 to 35 Gs and they gave you a brand new model FX45 that just came out and costs 50+ Gs and let you drive for two days as a loaner. Even Q45 owners get either an I35 or a G35 sedan down here but a loaner FX45. I’m sorry but that’s hard to believe.
Re: Trade for FX35
The service mgr wanted to give me the obligitory I30 but I went to the salesman who sold me the G and said."I30? C'mon dude! Faking a little interest in another purchase for my wife didn't hurt! When I turned the FX back in he wasn't there but he called me asking "how did your wife like the FX45?" If you make them think there is a possible sale, they'll give you the flagship! Austin Infiniti (TX) is an EXCELLENT dealer. Tell em Teddy sent ya!
Re: Trade for FX35
Believe it. It's called being personable enough during the sales process to get an ally at the dealership (salesman or sales manager or both). If you have made that relationship then it is easy to get any car you want. If you don't then you are one of those that just get an I30. I had an FX45 with 80mi on it...FOR TWO DAYS. They even washed it for me before I drove away.
