vent control valve
vent control valve
Okay so i bought the parts from the dealership and replaced it today. However my service engine light is still on after the replacement, im 100% sure it was the vent control valve that cause the light to come on in the first place because 2 different dealership scanned it for me.
So i was wondering, am i suppose to turn the light off myself useing the scanner or is it suppose to turn off on its own?
Thanks

Are you referring to the PCV? Positive crankcase ventilation? If you correct the condition for which the light went off originally then eventually the ecu will cycle out the error code and the light will go off. You could also do the ecu reset found on this site or disconnect the negative terminal overnight to speed up the process.
If the ECU doesn't detect the condition that set the light after 3 start/stop cycles (IIRC) it will turn the light off.
Or you can have any auto parts place that does free diagnostics clear the codes, or do a ecm reset.
