350Z Midpipe Question...

Hey all, I purchased what was supposed to be a G35 coupe midpipe privately, turns out it was really a 350Z midpipe, which is about 6" short. Is there an already made extension for this that anyone knows of or is it just easier to return it and find a coupe midpipe?

IMO for the price you would pay to buy an extension or go to a exhaust shop and them make you an adaptor i would just give it back to the guy and find coupe mid pipe ... you just have to keep your eyes open i got mine locally for $50

^ no it doesn't, it's the same piece...

Just weld an extension in, if you can't weld then take it to a muffler shop and say put this on my car and they will weld an extension in.

Bingo bango.

noooooooo! do not ever weld! it will crack over time especially if you run on WOT a lot. Welding is weak! 4DGS, is your exhaust welded? I've welded exhaust on two of my cars and both have broken open over time. Try to return it and get the coupe middy. Buy a middy locally or at a reputable online store. They sell it everywhere.

Sorry dude, but you suck at welding.

The shop I work with welds exhaust all day long, zero problems. The exhaust me and my buddy did on his Dad's camaro has held for 7 years. (winter driven car might I add)

If you know how to weld ( and you're not using MMA) then you'll never have an issue.

AZT, what method of welds did you use?

I welded an extension on my Z midpipe and that lasted longer than the welds on a set of Kinetix HFCs, and a couple sets of test pipes.

LOL at some of the posts here. I run a welded 350Z middy and it is exactly the same as the coupe mid (except for length) and has held up fine.

This was exactly what I was looking for. This will definitely fill the gap perfectly?

So does the Nismo extension fit perfectly or is it larger diameter?
