how to replace bulb shift indicator

My lights on my shift indicator is out and I was wondering if any of you guys can tell me how to take it apart and replace the bulb. I know how to take apart the whole shift and the shift **** etc etc, but the indicator is like a separate piece on top of the whole thing. If there is a DIY, just link me to that, but I searched and I couldn't find one. Thanks

Mine went out too.
I think its a fuse...

Anyways, I just ignore it. I just look at my dash to find out what gear I'm in.

Fast forward to 1:40. On the underside of the shifter console, you will see the wires leading under the shift plate to the bulb. Remove bulb, replace with new

There is a very tiny bulb under the shift indicator. It is a size 74 bulb. I have had to replace it once, and ironically it just went out again. I havent had a chance again to open it up yet.

I had to purchase 2 seperate brands of these stupid bulbs last time lol. If there are two different brands at the store, buy the ones with the longer base, you will see why when you go to install it. I first bought Slyvania ones (i think), but the base was too short and would not fit snugly, iirc Philips brand worked perfect.

Yeah I found the bulb, but I can't pull it out, it's attached to a yellow wire right? It's an extremely small bulb

yes there are 2 small yellow wires feeding the socket. Its a wedge type bulb and should pull right out of the socket.

Ok I ordered a package of the bulbs and popped one in, now it looks good as new. So before anybody goes to the dealership to spend a few hundred on a completely new console, just make sure the bulb works. Don't listen to their dealership people, they obviously want to take as much money as they can from you .

Not to revive an old thread but I just pulled my bulb out and it doesn't look burnt out, is there a fuse that goes to this specifically
