keyed my G35.....
keyed my G35.....
Some mother #&#$ER keyed my Black G35X yesterday, just got it 2 weeks ago, saved up 17G's, paid it off in cash, and now this....
Im so heated, and the worst part is, I dont have full coverage yet, because my old policy is about to end in 3 weeks, and I plan on switching afterwards..
But what should I do? Anyone recommend how to fix this?
Im in Queens NY, anyone know of a solid repair shop near by?

Your old policy should still cover it... If I remember correctly. There's some clause about buying a new vehicle and you have 30 days to get a new policy for that vehicle or something like that.
BUT, If I were you, buy the new policy... like tomorrow... shop around for some quotes on getting it repaired.. THEN make a claim. I don't think that's insurance fraud

Nice, now he just needs to find him

You should be covered under your current policy, lets hope so...
Keying a car is a low blow move. douche bags
If it makes you feel any better, i ran into a huge piece of sod on the highway yesterday, completely tore through my front bumper and underbody piece.

Thanks for the insight guys, however, I dont think my policy would cover a key scratch will it? I dont want my insurance to go up as well?
Any idea how much this would cost if I paid out in cash? Can I take it to the dealership?

do not take it to the STEALERship. They will RIP you off. Just take it to a high quality paint shop locally. How bad is the damage? i.e. how much of the car was keyed? You have two options1. If you had FULL coverage on your old policy.. it should cover the damage to your new vehicle because you have a 30 day window (usually) to buy a new policy for the new car.
2. (I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS) Buy a new policy for the car and get the insurance active, and live with the damage until then. THEN make the claim on the NEW policy on your NEW car. This shouldn't take much time at all. They may think it's fishy... but a policy is a policy.
^^
just get a new policy and chill for a month with the damage.
It will count against you but since you spent all your money buying the car I don't see much options and depending on if they keyed the whole side of your car or just a door you're looking at a serious paint bill.

depending on how deep the scratches are, you could just buy some touch-up paint from the dealership for $10 and see if that works.... it might not be the best solution, but it wouldn't be too noticeable in the mean time....
