Intelligent Key security

Is it possible to lock the intelligent key inside the car? More importantly, say I wanted to warm the car up in the winter before leaving for school. I have the key to get the car started and took it with me leaving the car running in the drivway. Could someone get in the car and drive away if the car couldn't sense the key?

With all the sensors in the car, it should not be possible to lock the key fob in the car... but I dont know if i would tempt fate

You leave the key in your pocket and after starting the car, you close the door and hit the button on the outside to lock it. Then you walk away and the car is locked..

I think tho, once its started, you dont have to have the key to take it out of park and drive it away.. the key light will just be red.

Yup, you can drive off without the key. I did this once but since I was just going through a drive thru and back hone I didn't care. Once you turn it off, you can't restart without key.

I always warm my car up in winter by taking key with me and locking the doors.
