Madhu I had a similar issue with my driver side rear door. Brought it to the dealer, they said because the rusting was due to paint chips it was not covered under that extended warranty. Give it a try anyways at your local dealer, it's worth a shot. Either way you should look into getting that rust repaired so it doesn't spread further..

Yeah, I have little hope, but will give it a try for sure.

How did you fix your rust?

Kvanginl and azt108 suggested doing it my self. sanding and repainting. Will do it, once I hear from Dealer. Let's see how much the chicago dealer would help

I brought it to a local body shop and they pretty much sanded down the rust from both the outer and inner door panel. Thing is with rust it's like a cancer, it will eventually come back. I've been looking through online junk yards for a door. It sucks bro, we both live in areas that are hit hard with snow and have to deal with salt in the winter.

I took my car to the dealer last friday and he said, he didn't see anything of this sort recently. He also mentioned, that since I just have bumper to bumper warranty, the rust should make a perforated hole to get the door covered under corrosion warranty.

He took digital pictures though and send them to Infiniti. Waiting on their reply in about 2 weeks

Infiniti rust warranty is a joke "we will only fix it if it produces a hole in the door". i had/have the same headaches. Talk about preventative maintenance.

$700 for hood respray? you have to be joking me. rip off. I see youre in the chicago area....Go to A&L Autobody in palatine, il. They do a standup job and wont charge you any more than $400. They work on everyone's local Z's/G's/Bimers, etc so they will give you the discount.

Good luck.

^ Thank you, i will try them this weekend.

I called back infiniti dealership today (Infiniti of Lisle) and they told me, since I am out of warranty, the rust should make a perforation in the door to be eligible for the door replacement. I believe, they didn't even send the pictures to Infiniti Head office, because, he was telling me, that he is sorry that he didn't mention this when the car is at the dealership.

When dealing with Infiniti, don't give up! Be nice but firm.

I argued with them for years on my 2003. They gave us the same line about perforation - the key was to show that it had rusted completely through the weld area. Early last year they completely replaced all 4 doors at zero cost to me.

I almost gave up on this. I will keep trying now. Did your doors look similar to mine.
